Wrench As A Go-Gauge

Turners are sometimes advised to use an open end wrench as a gauge for sizing tennons on spindle turnings. Wrenches are produced oversized so they will slide on to the appropriate nut or cap hex. If you use a wrench as a size gauge plan on trimming the tennon afterward or purchase an oversized drill bit to match the wrench.
